For the past ten years I have been photographing underground rituals and gatherings in the United States. These gathering places, which the author
Hakim Bey refers to as Temporary Autonomous Zones, act as a mirror to the
main stream culture at large, reflecting the absurdities of modern life;
While at the same time rejuvenating the participants sense of community and
creative purpose.
